Course Description

The Opioids Basics Training Course provides Certified Community Health Workers (CCHWs), and Peer Support Specialists with essential knowledge and skills to understand the opioid epidemic, support individuals in recovery, and navigate treatment and prevention resources. This training emphasizes practical tools, evidence-based strategies, and the unique role CHWs and peers play in bridging gaps between clients, healthcare providers, and community resources. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to support consumers with treatment planning, recovery strategies, and ongoing wellness, while also understanding professional scope of practice and career development opportunities.
